The blood group B with the Rhesus factor positive is owned by 21% of people worldwide and only 9% of people in Germany. At 6%, blood group A with the Rhesus factor negative is represented in Germany, and blood group B with the rhesus factor negative is possessed by only 2% of people in Germany.

The surface of red blood cells consists of various structures, including carbohydrates (sugars) and proteins (proteins), – they are called blood group antigens. Each person possesses a certain variety of these antigens in several combinations. These characteristics result in different blood groups. It’s like a fingerprint. A total of 38 blood group systems are currently known. The most significant for medicine are two of them: the AB0 system and the rhesus system.
