The hashish (Arabic for grass) is the resin obtained from the flowers of the cannabis plant and pressed into plates or blocks. It is one of the so-called “gentle” psychoactive drugs. The general properties of the drug are described under cannabis, the properties of the plant under hemp. Hashish is usually smoked (in pipes or joints), but also consumed in food or drinks.
Pure hashish is more potent than marijuana with the same starting material. The so-called “standard” hashish (also called “Europlatte”), which is mainly available in Germany, is usually quite dry and medium brown to green and often contains extenders such as sand, dust, grease, impotent plant parts (herbs), damiana or (rarely) henna. It is therefore not significantly stronger in effect than marijuana.
The possession, but not the consumption of cannabis is illegal in Germany and many other countries. The article explains the legal aspects of cannabis in more detail.
Hashish (dope, shit) is made from the resin of the inflorescences of the cannabis plant “Cannabis sativa”. The resin is pressed into plates together with extenders and parts of the plant. The active ingredient content can vary greatly. In 2000, 61% of the samples seized by the German Federal Criminal Police Office had 5 to 10% THC. 21% had an even higher THC content. The highest value was 34%.
Most often, hashish has a brownish-green color and a firm to friable consistency. However, depending on the origin and composition, the color and consistency may vary.
